Climate Conference live in Second Life and U.S. Pol to Give Major Climate Speech in SL

The Climate Conference on Bali is still going on this week and if you are in the right timezone or sleepless you can attend virtually everyday at 4:30am SLT on the “OneWorld Meetings“-Sim in Second Life. oneworld.net is doing interviews live from Bali there and you can participate and ask questions. This will still go on until friday.

I was there yesterday and it was indeed quite interesting to get some information from behind the scenes compares to what you usually get on TV.

Ed Markey to give Climate Speech in Second Life

The same location will be used by Edward Markey, chairman of the Global Warming Comittee to do an online address followed by an Q&A. This will happen today at 5:30pm SLT (8:30 pm EST) again at the “OneWorld Meetings“-Sim. (press release here)

If you cannot attend either the daily interviews or the Climate Speech, you can also tune in via ustream.tv which has the stream live from Second Life at http://www.oneclimate.net/virtualbali.

  2. Rip Says:

This Bali Conference and its activities in Secondlife is a total Joke! These poor 3rd world socialistic clowns dont have a clue!

  3. Christian Scholz Says:

    can you elaborate?

  4. Rip Says:

To elaborate: any thought of manmade global warming is an attempt to weaken the economies of the first world period. This global warning hoax is junk science at best and crinimal in the worst case. To stage a meeting in secondlife for this purpose is nothing more than media press release hype on the part of LL to increase the flow of people into the world. Dont be fooled!

  5. Christian Scholz Says:

Well, for Germany it grows economy because we create lots of technologies which help reduce carbon emission. And more is possible. The same is true for other countries. There just need to be global rules so competition is fair.

Regarding LL: they have nothing to do with that project. It was oneworld.net’s decision to do that in Second Life and it worked out well. They also streamed it via ustream.tv and thus you don’t even need to go in-world.

    So yes, don’t be fooled…
