Things will also continue to change and I think for the better, for Second Life, Lively and the whole virtual worlds scene :)

And I also think we will see many alternative clients in the future which might be more or less complex and more or less easy to use.

Now with getting a standardized protocol this will be all possible very easily.

Even though at this moment I am unable to log into SL for some unknown reason, Lively makes me grateful for what SL has despite many of the complaints (some of them of course being my own). Things have changed a lot since times when simply moving would deselect a prim you were editing, for example, and doing most things in SL lately is as easy as rolling out of bed (though you need a much more advanced computer for it). I hope Lively will branch out from SL as it has developed over the years, and create a feature set with a more Apple-like sensibility to it.

Thanks for the summary of the Q&A session. I listen to the World2Worlds life streaming as a result of reading this post. What I take away from it is that support for client platforms other than Windows was not even a topic. Bummer! Was there really no-one who brought that up? Single-sign-on will be nice though.

I'm glad to hear some plans for making Lively a more attractable 3D chat, and possibly more. I'm curious what hey will do with their pricing/catalog area. I'm sure this will bring a lot of developers and content type people into the Lively realm from Second Life and other 3D worlds.
