So two nice things happened recently regarding opening up the web:
- Yahoo introduces OpenID (but only version 2 which makes it incompatible with most sites out there at the moment) and it will be in public beta from January 30th on (via franztoo). You can see more at Yahoo! OpenID.
- Blogger not only allows to login with your OpenID to comment but also acts now as an OpenID provider (more info int he Blogger blog). And they start with OpenID 1.1 which means it actually is quite useful to many websites.
So this is very good news. Both Yahoo and Google go in the right direction and this makes me optimistic for spreading OpenID.
BTW, if you want to keep up with OpenID news I suggest you subscribe over at the OpenID Planet.
